MATERIAL SAFETY DATA
Comprehensive safety information and Material Safety Data Sheets for EuroStone products
Safety Information
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provide essential safety information for handling, storing, and using EuroStone quartz products. These documents are required for compliance with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
All safety precautions apply to fabrication processes only. Once installed, EuroStone quartz surfaces are safe for everyday use in residential and commercial applications.
SAFETY DATA OVERVIEW
Product Identification
EuroStone quartz surfaces are engineered stone products composed primarily of natural mineral aggregates combined with polymer resins and pigments. All products meet or exceed industry safety standards.
Composition Information
EuroStone products contain:
- • 93-94% Natural minerals (quartz and other minerals)
- • 6-7% Polyester resin binder
- • <1% Pigments and additives
Hazards Identification
Finished EuroStone products pose no health risks during normal use. Hazards exist only during cutting, grinding, or drilling operations when respirable crystalline silica dust may be generated. Proper safety equipment and dust control measures must be used during fabrication.
First Aid Measures
In case of exposure during fabrication:
- • Inhalation: Move to fresh air immediately. Seek medical attention if respiratory irritation persists.
- • Eye Contact: Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation continues.
- • Skin Contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water.
- • Ingestion: Drink water to dilute. Seek medical attention if discomfort occurs.
Fire-Fighting Measures
EuroStone quartz is non-combustible and does not support combustion. Use extinguishing methods appropriate for surrounding materials. No special fire-fighting procedures required.
Handling and Storage
Store slabs in upright position on padded supports. Protect from impact damage. Keep away from direct heat sources. Maintain dry storage conditions. Handle with appropriate lifting equipment due to weight.
Exposure Controls / Personal Protection
During fabrication operations:
- • Use wet cutting methods with continuous water flow
- • Employ HEPA-filtered vacuum dust collection
- • Wear NIOSH-approved respirator (N95 minimum)
- • Use safety glasses with side shields
- • Wear hearing protection when using power tools
- • Use cut-resistant gloves
