Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our premium quartz surfaces

Product Information

What is EuroStone?

EuroStone is a premium engineered quartz surface made from 93-94% natural minerals and 6-7% polyester resin binder. Through vibro-compression under vacuum at high pressure and hot catalytic chambers, we create a material with superior physical properties and performance characteristics compared to natural stone.

How does EuroStone compare to natural stone?

EuroStone offers superior durability, consistency, and maintenance-free performance. Unlike natural stone, EuroStone is non-porous, highly resistant to scratches, stains, and heat, and requires no sealing. Our surfaces combine the beauty of natural stone with the enhanced performance of modern engineering.

What finishes are available?

EuroStone offers multiple finish options: Polished (high-gloss reflective surface), Grain (honed matte texture), and Rocplan (leathered tactile surface). Each finish provides unique aesthetic and practical benefits.

How many colors and patterns are available?

EuroStone offers over 70 different colors and patterns across our Classic Series, Eco-Stone Collection, and zero-quartz Cosmolite Collection. From timeless whites and grays to dramatic veined marbles, we have options for every design aesthetic.

Installation & Applications

Where can EuroStone be installed?

EuroStone is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, countertops, vanities, backsplashes, table tops, commercial applications, stair treads, and even flooring in high-traffic areas. Its durability makes it suitable for both residential and commercial projects.

Can EuroStone be used outdoors?

While EuroStone performs exceptionally well indoors, we recommend consulting with your fabricator about outdoor applications. UV exposure and temperature extremes may affect certain colors over time.

What slab sizes are available?

EuroStone slabs are available in jumbo sizes (typically 126" x 63") and standard sizes. Consult our Slab Sizes & Weights resource for detailed dimensions and weight specifications.

How thick are EuroStone slabs?

Standard thickness is 2cm (3/4"). Thickness selection depends on your application, support structure, and aesthetic preferences.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean EuroStone surfaces?

For polished surfaces, simply wipe with soap and warm water. For stubborn stains, use a multipurpose cleaner or soft scrub with bleach. Grain and Rocplan finishes require slightly more care—avoid harsh scrubbing and consider using a recommended sealer.

Is EuroStone heat resistant?

Yes, EuroStone is highly heat resistant. However, sudden or prolonged extreme heat can cause thermal shock or discoloration. Always use trivets or hot pads under hot pots, pans, and appliances.

Can I cut directly on EuroStone?

While EuroStone is extremely scratch resistant, we recommend using cutting boards to preserve the surface finish and protect your knives.

Does EuroStone need to be sealed?

Polished EuroStone surfaces do not require sealing. However, textured finishes (Grain, Rocplan) may benefit from sealing to minimize staining from oils and colored liquids. Consult with your fabricator for specific recommendations.

Technical & Performance

Is EuroStone certified?

Yes, EuroStone meets rigorous industry standards including NSF/ANSI 51 (Food Equipment Materials), GREENGUARD certification for low VOC emissions, and ASTM C1798 standards for engineered stone.

What is the Cosmolite Collection?

Cosmolite is our revolutionary zero-quartz porcelain surface collection. It offers the same beauty and durability as traditional quartz but with ultra-low crystalline content, addressing California Proposition 65 concerns while maintaining premium performance.

Does EuroStone contribute to LEED certification?

Yes, EuroStone products can contribute to LEED points in multiple categories including Materials & Resources (recycled content), Indoor Environmental Quality (low emissions), and Innovation in Design.

How strong is EuroStone?

EuroStone exceeds natural stone in flexural strength, impact resistance, and scratch resistance. Our manufacturing process creates a denser, more uniform material with exceptional durability.
